Pacific Ring-necked Snake (Diadophis punctatus amabilis) (Photo by Crotalinae) This mildly venomous snake is easily found under cover in the coastal forests of the bay area of California. Although venomous it poses little threat to humans due in part to its small size, rear-fangs and docile nature.
